Watford and Tottenham Hotspur, who both have 100% winning records so far, meet at Vicarage Road in the Premier League this weekend. Early leaders Liverpool face Leicester City in the Saturday lunch time game. Champions Manchester City entertain Newcastle United, while Arsenal travel to Cardiff City.

It’s not all about the Premier League though. In the EFL Championship, high flyers Leeds United and Middlesbrough square off at Elland Road on Friday night, while Swansea City make the trip to Millwall on Saturday.

Premier League

Date Time Match Tip
01/09/2018 12:30 Leicester v Liverpool Liverpool to Win -1
01/09/2018 17:30 Man City v Newcastle Man City to Win to Nil
02/09/2018 13:30 Cardiff v Arsenal Arsenal to Win 2-0
02/09/2018 16:00 Watford v Tottenham Tottenham Win & BTTS

Watford have been the surprise package in the Premier League thus far with three wins to their name so far. They may have had “easy” fixtures but even so, several experts had tipped them for relegation. Tottenham joined the Hornets at the top of the table with an impressive 3-0 victory at Old Trafford on Monday night but at least one will lose their 100% record on Sunday.

One side that no longer has a perfect start to defend is Man City. Having dropped two points at Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend, Pep Guardiola’s side will be desperate to return to winning ways this Saturday.

Leicester City v Liverpool

Saturday 1st September, 12:30, Sky Sports

On Saturday afternoon, Leicester City welcome Liverpool to the King Power Stadium. The Reds will be on the lookout for their fourth successive Premier League win as they seek to mount a serious and sustained title push.

After losing their opening game at Manchester United, Leicester have hit back with two wins from two Premier League fixtures. Meanwhile, Liverpool have taken nine points from a possible nine without conceding a single goal.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have looked very strong so far, and they should make it 12 points from four games this weekend. The Reds to win -1 is available at 6/5 with Coral and that’s good value given their amazing firepower and much improved defensive solidity.

Manchester City v Newcastle United

Saturday 1st September, 17:30, BT Sport

Man City will be hoping to return to winning ways after a 1-1 draw with Wolves last weekend. This Saturday, Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle are the visitors to the Etihad Stadium and the Geordies will be up against it from the off.

Before dropping two points at Molineux, the champions had sealed easy wins over Arsenal and Huddersfield Town. Newcastle, meanwhile, have taken just one point from their opening three matches and after a poor transfer window they could face a long old season.

City should storm to all three points in Manchester at the weekend. Take a punt on Guardiola’s boys to win to nil, which, given Newcastle’s lack of firepower, is available at the decent odds of 4/6 with bet365.

Cardiff City v Arsenal

Sunday 2nd September, 13:30, Sky Sports

Neil Warnock’s Cardiff will be looking for their first win and first goal of the season when they welcome Unai Emery and Arsenal to the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday. However, the Bluebirds are the big underdogs in this one and are another side who looks set for a season of struggles.

The Welsh team are still waiting for their first league goal of the season, but they have held Newcastle and Huddersfield to goalless draws. Emery picked up his first win as Gunners boss last weekend, with his side coming from behind and beating West Ham United 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal will be targeting all three points on Sunday, and they should see off Cardiff with ease in the Welsh capital. You can get the 2-0 away win at 15/2 at BetVictor.

Watford v Tottenham Hotspur

Sunday 2nd September, 16:00, Sky Sports

Sunday’s late game in the Premier League comes from Vicarage Road as Watford entertain Tottenham. With both teams sitting on nine points from a possible nine, which way will this one go in Hertfordshire?

Javier Gracia’s boys have made a fine start to their season, securing wins over the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Burnley and Crystal Palace. After beating Newcastle and Fulham, Spurs sealed a memorable 3-0 win at Old Trafford on Monday but something must give here.

This could be a close game at Vicarage Road, but Mauricio Pochettino’s Lilywhites should edge it. We like the look of bet365’s 9/4 for Tottenham to win and both teams to score on Sunday.

EFL Championship

Date Time Match Tip
31/08/2018 19:45 Leeds v Middlesbrough Leeds Win
01/09/2018 17:30 Millwall v Swansea Draw

Leeds and Middlesbrough are flying high at the top of the Championship table on 13 points from five games, with the West Yorkshire outfit topping the table on goal difference. This Friday, the Whites entertain Boro at Elland Road in a blockbuster clash in the second tier. The other standout game in the Championship takes place at the Den where Millwall and Swansea do battle on Saturday.

Leeds United v Middlesbrough

Friday 31st August, 19:45, Sky Sports

Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds and Tony Pulis’ Middlesbrough lock horns in a mouth-watering Championship encounter at Elland Road. A win for one of these on Friday will take them three points clear at the top and this game offers a real clash of styles.

Bielsa has hit the ground running at Leeds, guiding his new team to league wins over the likes of Stoke City, Derby County, Rotherham United and Norwich City. Boro have also picked up 13 points from a possible 15, winning each of their last four since an opening weekend draw with Millwall.

This should be a real cracker at Elland Road, but we can see the home team nicking a vital three points. It will be a packed house and that could make the difference so back the Leeds win at 23/20 with Betfred.

Millwall v Swansea City

Saturday 1st September, 17:30, Sky Sports

Neil Harris’ Millwall and Graham Potter’s Swansea go head-to-head at the Den on Saturday evening. Both teams will be looking for a win after disappointing defeats last time out as they seek to gain more consistency and push their way up the table.

The Lions crashed to two away defeats last week, losing at Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham. As for the Swans, they were beaten for the first time under Potter last Saturday, with Bristol City winning 1-0 at the Liberty Stadium.

Millwall were hard to beat at on home soil last term, suffering just four league defeats in front of their own fans. We can see the pair cancelling each other out on Saturday, so have a punt on the draw at very solid odds of 23/10 with bet365.
