Weekend Football Betting Tips – 20th, 21st, 22nd & 23rd April 2018

We have top action in the Premier League, Emirates FA Cup and EFL Championship to look forward to this weekend. With Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea featuring in the cup, Liverpool have the chance to stamp their authority on the top four when they travel to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday for a Premier League fixture.

Wolverhampton Wanderers were promoted to the Premier League last week, but who will join them? Fulham travel to The Den to play in-form Millwall on Friday night, while Cardiff City host Aitor Karanka’s Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening.

Premier League

Manchester City were crowned Premier League champions after Man United were beaten at home by West Bromwich Albion last Sunday. It will be a party atmosphere when Pep Guardiola’s champions welcome Swansea City to the Etihad Stadium this weekend. Elsewhere, Arsenal and West Ham United meet in a London derby at the Emirates Stadium.

West Bromwich Albion v Liverpool – 21st April

The Premier League weekend gets underway at The Hawthorns as West Brom welcome Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to the West Midlands. After beating Man United at Old Trafford last weekend, Darren Moore’s men will be looking for another upset this Saturday.

The Reds make the trip to the home of Albion in superb shape, winning five of their last six in all competitions. Albion’s win in Manchester last Sunday was their first victory since winning at Anfield in the FA Cup back in January.

With Liverpool still needing the points to nail down a UEFA Champions League place, we can see them picking up all three points from this one. Check out Coral’s top price of 13/10 for the Merseyside outfit to win with a -1 goal handicap.

Arsenal v West Ham United – 22nd April

London rivals Arsenal and West Ham meet at the Emirates Stadium this Sunday afternoon. Arsene Wenger’s men are the bookies’ favourites to claim a home win here.

Arsenal have been very strong on their own patch this term, with only the current top two taking more home points so far. As for David Moyes’ Hammers, they have mustered just two Premier League away wins all season.

Arsenal have been woeful on the road but very good at home. With that in mind, we’re backing the Gunners to seal another home victory this weekend. Ladbrokes are offering the tempting odds of 27/20 for Wenger’s troops to be winning at half time and full time.

Arsenal HT/FT – 27/20 at Ladbrokes

Manchester City v Swansea City – 22nd April

Man City’s title celebrations will get going in Sunday’s game with Swansea at the Etihad. However, this is a big match for the Swans, who hover just above the relegation zone.

The Citizens have been a cut above the rest in the Premier League this season, winning a staggering 28 of their 33 league games. City are worthy champions and Guardiola will want his side to keep on winning to end the season in style.

Carlos Carvalhal’s Swansea still have work to do in the race for survival, but we can’t see them getting anything at the Etihad on Sunday. Back Man City to win this one to nil at 7/10 (BetVictor).

Everton v Newcastle United – 23rd April

The final Premier League match of the weekend takes place at Goodison Park as Sam Allardyce’s Everton entertain Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United on Monday night. The Magpies have moved to within one point of the Toffees.

After making sure of survival, Everton’s season has rather petered out of late. Allardyce’s side have picked up just four wins from their last 16 league games. Newcastle, meanwhile, make the trip to Merseyside on the back of four successive victories.

The Magpies have been one of the in-form teams in the top flight over the last month or so, and they will fancy their chances of winning at Goodison on Monday. We feel there’s good value in Betfair’s 9/1 for Newcastle to win 1-0.

FA Cup

It’s semi-final weekend in the FA Cup as the likes of Man United, Tottenham, Chelsea and Southampton all go for glory. On Saturday, the Red Devils face Spurs at Wembley Stadium, with the Blues and the Saints squaring off in the national stadium the following day. Which two teams will make it through to contest next month’s FA Cup final?

Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur – 21st April

Jose Mourinho’s Man United and Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham lock horns in the first FA Cup semi-final on Saturday. Spurs head into this one as the slight favourites with the bookies.

Tottenham have already beaten United at Wembley in the Premier League this term, winning 2-0 back in January. Home advantage could play into Spurs’ hands in this one. However, Mourinho has been a cup specialist since arriving at Old Trafford, and his side will be well up for this.

We should be in for a thrilling game between these two evenly matched sides. Because of that, we can see this going the distance at Wembley. For the draw in the 90, check out Bet365’s odds of 12/5.

Draw – 12/5 at Bet365

Chelsea v Southampton – 22nd April

Southampton take a welcome break from the rigours of a Premier League relegation battle when they face Chelsea at Wembley in an FA Cup semi-final on Sunday. Antonio Conte’s Blues are the strong favourites, however.

Last weekend, Chelsea came from 2-0 down to win 3-2 courtesy of three goals in nine second-half minutes at St Mary’s. Mark Hughes’ men were left stunned, slipping even further into trouble in the process. The Blues, meanwhile, kept their Champions League hopes alive.

The shackles will be off the Saints in this cup clash, but Chelsea should still be too strong. Check out Coral’s 12/5 for the Londoners to win and both teams to score at Wembley.

EFL Championship

Wolves may have sealed one of the automatic promotion places, but who will join them in the Premier League? Cardiff are back in the driving seat after last weekend’s 2-0 win at Norwich City, while Fulham could only manage a 1-1 home draw with rivals Brentford. On Friday, the Cottagers face Millwall at The Den.

Millwall v Fulham – 20th April

Fulham will be hoping to keep their automatic promotion ambitions alive when they travel to Millwall on Friday. This has the potential to be a mouth-watering game between the two in-form clubs in the Championship.

Since losing at Norwich on New Year’s Day, the Lions have gone 17 games unbeaten. As for the Cottagers, they have not lost in the Championship since falling to a shock defeat to Sunderland back in December.

Both sides will be desperate for the points at The Den, but we can see them cancelling each other out in the capital. Ladbrokes are offering the solid odds of 6/1 for the 1-1 draw in south London.

1-1 Draw – 6/1 at Ladbrokes

Cardiff City v Nottingham Forest – 21st April

Cardiff can move one step closer to the Premier League with a win against Nottingham Forest at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday night.

The Bluebirds moved back into second spot last weekend after an excellent 2-0 win at Norwich. After that, Neil Warnock’s men watched Brentford score in the last minute at Craven Cottage to earn a 1-1 draw with Fulham. The Welsh side are now a point above the third-placed Cottagers with a game in hand.

This will not be an easy match for Cardiff with the pressure well and truly on. However, we can see Warnock’s men sealing a priceless victory on home turf. Back the Bluebirds to prevail at 1/2 with Betfred.
