Midweek European Football Betting Tips – 10th, 11th & 12th April 2018

We have eight quarter-final second legs in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League to look forward to across the course of the week. The likes of Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Arsenal all hold handy advantages, but they are not through just yet.

Can Manchester City turn a three-goal deficit around when they welcome Liverpool to the Etihad Stadium? Will La Liga rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid ease into the last four? There’s still a lot to be settled in Europe’s top two club competitions.

Champions League

Wednesday’s Bayern Munich versus Sevilla game is the only tie that is truly in the balance as Bayern hold a 2-1 advantage. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Liverpool all lead by three goals. The Reds make the trip to Manchester to play Man City on Tuesday, while Barca head to Rome. Real host Juve at the Santiago Bernabeu with a handsome 3-0 advantage and look well set to march on to the semis.

Manchester City v Liverpool – 10th April

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were superb in the first half of the first leg at Anfield last Wednesday, blowing Man City away with three outstanding goals. Can Pep Guardiola’s superstars turn things around against their Premier League rivals on Tuesday?

Mohamed Salah, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane got the goals in the first period to give the Reds a commanding grip on the tie. The Citizens huffed and puffed in the second half but could not make a breakthrough.

Although we fancy Man City to win on the night at the Etihad, we can’t see Guardiola’s boys overturning the big deficit. Therefore we suggest you take a punt on BetVictor’s 8/1 for City to win 2-1.

Roma v Barcelona – 10th April

Ernesto Valverde’s Barcelona were far too strong for Eusebio Di Francesco’s Roma in the Camp Nou last Wednesday, cruising to a 4-1 win. As expected, Barca are the overwhelming favourites to go through to the semi-finals.

Roma have not quite had the season they managed last term, but they are still capable of causing Blaugrana one or two problems in the Stadio Olimpico. However, it’s hard to see Valverde’s side letting a three-goal lead slip in Rome.

After the stunning win in Catalonia, Barcelona will be looking to reach the semi-finals in style by winning in the Italian capital on Tuesday. Back the away victory at 4/6 at Ladbrokes.

Barcelona Win – 4/6 at Ladbrokes

Bayern Munich v Sevilla – 11th April

On Wednesday, Jupp Heynckes’ Bayern Munich entertain Vincenzo Montella’s Sevilla at the Allianz Arena. The German giants hold a narrow 2-1 advantage in the tie and look well-placed to make the most of home advantage in this one.

The Bavarians hit back well in Seville after going a goal down after 32 minutes. After Pablo Sarabia’s goal, a Jesus Navas own goal and a Thiago Alcantara strike turned the game on its head in Bayern’s favour.

FC Hollywood have a phenomenal record on their own patch this term and they should be too strong for the Spanish outfit on Wednesday. Back Bayern to win with a -2 goal handicap at 7/4 with Betfair.

Real Madrid v Juventus – 11th April

A stunning Cristiano Ronaldo goal inspired Real Madrid to an empathic 3-0 win over Juventus in Turin. Will the Spanish giants build on their lead, or can the Old Lady pull off a miraculous comeback?

Ronaldo, who’s netted in every Champions League fixture this season, was up to his old tricks again last Tuesday, scoring two goals to help Madrid to a comfortable 3-0 win in the Allianz Stadium.

This could be another stroll in the park for the current European champions, so put some money on them to win to nil (2/1 at Betfred) in the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.

Europa League

Arsenal sealed a big 4-1 win over CSKA Moscow at the Emirates Stadium last Thursday, planting one foot in the last four. Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid beat Sporting Lisbon 2-0, while Lazio put four past Red Bull Salzburg in a 4-2 home win. The Marseille versus Red Bull Leipzig affair should be interesting after the German side won the first leg by a narrow 1-0 scoreline.

CSKA Moscow v Arsenal – 12th April

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal are in pole position to make it through to the last four after a convincing win over CSKA Moscow at the Emirates last Thursday.

In truth, the scoreline could have been a lot more handsome in terms of goals, as both teams had several opportunities in what was a pulsating match in London. However, the Gunners fully deserved their three-goal lead.

Arsenal won’t want to take their foot off the gas in Russia, and we like the look of BetVictor’s 14/5 for the Londoners to win with a -1 goal handicap in Moscow.

Arsenal to Win -1 – 14/5 at BetVictor

Marseille v Red Bull Leipzig – 12th April

Out of all eight quarter-final second legs, this clash between Marseille and Red Bull Leipzig is the most delicately poised. Can the French side turn a 1-0 scoreline around on home soil?

The prolific Timo Werner’s goal on the stroke of half time was enough to give Leipzig a 1-0 win. They also stopped Rudi Garcia’s men from scoring in the Red Bull Arena.

Things were extremely tight in the first leg, and we could be in for more of the same in Marseille on Thursday. Check out Betfred’s top odds of 8/1 for this to end in a 1-0 win for the hosts after 90 minutes.

Red Bull Salzburg v Lazio – 12th April

Marco Rose’s Red Bull Salzburg played well at times in Rome, but Lazio are in control of this tie after a 4-2 win on their own patch.

Having levelled the game at 2-2 with just 20 minutes left, Salzburg will be kicking themselves to have concede two goals in the last 15 minutes to lose 4-2 in the Italian capital.

Salzburg are capable of winning this second leg, but it remains to be seen whether they have enough to turn this tie around completely. Still, we’re backing a home win at odds of 31/20 (BetVictor).

Sporting Lisbon v Atletico Madrid – 12th April

Diego Simeone’s Atleti, who are the tournament favourites, hold a handsome 2-0 lead over Sporting Lisbon after a comfortable night in the Wanda Metropolitano last Thursday.

The Portuguese side failed to recover from Koke’s first-minute strike, with Antoine Griezmann adding a second five minutes before half time. Lisbon had one or two positive moments but were well beaten in the end.

Madrid have dominated in this competition since joining from the Champions League, and Simeone will be targeting another victory in this one. For another 2-0 Atleti win, take a look at Coral’s big odds of 9/1.
