Premier League

With only 10 matches left after this round of fixtures, we’ve certainly reached the business end of the season in the Premier League. Man City look uncatchable at the top, but the race for the UEFA Champions League places is really starting to heat up. With four of the top five in action this weekend, who can steal a march on their rivals? We also have a fascinating relegation scrap going on, with several big fixtures in the bottom half taking place this weekend.

Leicester City v Stoke City – 24th February

Claude Puel’s Leicester City welcome Paul Lambert’s Stoke City to the King Power Stadium this Saturday for a big fixture in the Premier League.

The Foxes have been a formidable outfit since Puel took over at the King Power, and they find themselves in a respectable eighth position. In contrast, the Potters sit second from bottom on 25 points.

Stoke no doubt need the points more than Leicester, but we can’t see past a routine home win in this one. Take a look at Bet365’s 8/1 for the Foxes to prevail 2-0 this Saturday.

Watford v Everton – 24th February

Later in the day, Javier Gracia’s Watford entertain Sam Allardyce’s Everton at Vicarage Road. The Hornets, who beat Chelsea 4-1 in their last home game, are the slight favourites here.

Despite that big win over the champions, Watford remain just four points above the drop zone. As for Everton, they sit ninth on 34 points, four points above Saturday’s opponents.

This has the potential to be a tight one in Herefordshire, so we like the look of Coral’s 10/3 for the draw and both teams to score.

Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur – 25th February

With Tottenham Hotspur’s Emirates FA Cup fifth round game with Rochdale going to a replay, this fixture between Crystal Palace and Spurs, which was scheduled to take place on Monday, has been switched to Sunday.

Crystal Palace have made a vast improvement since the start of the season, but two points from an available 12 recently has put the Eagles back in trouble. As for Tottenham, they continue to charge down a place in the top four.

This should be an entertaining London derby at Selhurst Park, but Spurs will back themselves to take home all three points. Mauricio Pochettino’s boys are priced at 1/2 with Ladbrokes to pick up the win.

Manchester United v Arsenal – 25th February

The final match of the Premier League weekend comes from Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon as Man Utd host Chelsea. With only three points separating these two giants, this is a vital matchup in Manchester.

United will be hoping to get back on track following their shock defeat at Newcastle United last time out. After losing two in a row, the Blues sealed a welcome 3-0 win over bottom club West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge in their last PL game.

This promises to be a mouth-watering matchup, which could go either way at the Theatre of Dreams. Fixtures between these two are always tough ones to call, so put some money on both teams to score at 19/20 with Bet365.

EFL Cup

The first piece of silverware of the season is up for grabs at Wembley Stadium on Sunday when Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal and Pep Guardiola’s Man City do battle in the EFL Cup final. As expected, the Premier League leaders go into this one as the bookies’ favourites, but can Wenger claim his first League Cup trophy?

Arsenal v Manchester City – 25th February

Arsenal and Man City lock horns at Wembley Stadium for the EFL Cup final on Sunday afternoon. Guardiola will be gunning for his first trophy as City boss, while Wenger has never won this competition during his 22-year stay in north London. Which way will this showpiece showdown go at the weekend?

Naturally, it’s hard to look past a Man City win, considering Pep’s troops have been so dominant all season long. However, after seeing the Citizens drop out of the FA Cup with defeat at EFL League One outfit Wigan Athletic on Monday, the Gunners will be buoyed ahead of this final.

Arsenal have been cup specialists over the last few years and have certainly enjoyed plenty of success at the new Wembley. However, we fancy Man City to edge an entertaining game in the capital. A 2-1 City win is available at the tempting odds of 8/1 with Betfair.

Championship

Wolves will be looking to stamp down their authority even further at the top with a win at promotion chasing Fulham on Saturday evening. Before then, though, struggling Hull City welcome Chris Wilder’s Sheff Utd to the KCOM Stadium for Friday’s fixture. All 24 Championship clubs are in action this weekend as we approach the run-in in the second tier.

Hull City v Sheffield United – 23rd February

Nigel Adkins has plenty of work do if Hull are to stay in the Championship this season. Things don’t get any easier for the Tigers, who entertain promotion hopefuls Sheff United at the KCOM this Friday night.

In truth, it’s been another disastrous season for Hull – like Sunderland, City have struggled to cope with relegation from the Premier League. Last term, Hull and Sheffield Utd were two leagues apart, but it’s the Blades who are heading in the right direction these days.

With United still hot on the heels of the top six, we fancy Wilder’s men to get the job done in East Yorkshire. The away win is available at 7/4 with BetVictor.

Sheffield United to Win – 7/4 at BetVictor

Fulham v Wolverhampton Wanderers – 24th February

Slavisa Jokanovic’s Fulham and Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves are two of the in-form sides in the Championship at present. However, can the Cottagers continue their march up the table, or will Wanderers extend their lead at the top?

Fulham, who have spent a few frustrating years in the second tier following relegation in 2014, can see the bright lights of the Premier League once again. As for Wolves, they look certain to be a top-flight club next term.

Fulham will fancy their chances of toppling the league leaders on Saturday, but we can see Wolves leaving with a precious point. Check out Betfred’s 11/2 for the 1-1 draw.
