Monaco Grand Prix Betting Tips & Analysis – 28th May 2017

Which driver will take the title in the most prestigious and glamorous race of the Formula 1 season? The Monaco Grand Prix is far and away the biggest occasion of the F1 calendar, but who will take maximum points here?

The Spanish Grand Prix saw a gap begin to open up once again, with the top two starting to pull clear. Lewis Hamilton won, followed across the line by Sebastian Vettel. The battle between those two promises to be an entertaining one, which will hopefully last until the end of the campaign. Just how will they get on in Monaco this weekend or can one of the chasing pack force themselves back into the title battle?

Who Will Win?

It’s hard to see anyone outside of Hamilton and Vettel taking top spot here, given that they’ve won four of the last five races between them. The competition between them is kicking both drivers forward, but will they be able to take this prestigious title? Both drivers have already won around this famous circuit, with Hamilton winning at Monaco on two occasions. However, neither can match up to three time winner and reigning champion Nico Rosberg.

Despite winning in Spain, Hamilton still isn’t back to the top of the Drivers’ standings. He’s six points shy of Vettel, but that is a gap he can turn around this weekend. After landing a hat-trick last time out – winning the race, recording pole position and the fastest lap – he’s clearly in good enough form to take the victory in Monaco.

While Vettel is always going to be a contender this season, he’s finished second in three of his five races this term. We can see the Ferrari man being left second once again, with Mercedes having a good record at this track. They’ve won it four years in a row, including Hamilton’s triumph last year. That has us backing him to take top spot at solid enough odds of 13/10 with Coral.

Outsiders, Each Way Tips and Other Bets

While we’re backing Hamilton for the win, we also see him taking pole position this weekend. He’s taken pole in three of the five races this season, and he tends to thrive at this circuit. He’s excellently priced to take yet another pole this weekend, at 5/4 with BetVictor. With his great record, we suggest backing that and considering him for another hat-trick at longer odds is also advised.

While the top two are starting to pull away, Valtteri Bottas isn’t too far behind in third. He’s made a strong start to his Mercedes career, and he should benefit from his new team’s good record at this circuit. He’s priced at 10/11 with Sky Bet for a top three finish, which we’re backing here.

Finally, even the fight for the top six places is a tight one. However, Sergio Perez made the top four last time out and we think he offers decent value here. He claimed a third placed finish in Monaco last term, so we think he’s excellently priced for a top six finish at evens with Ladbrokes.
