Paddy Power

Paddy Power is one of the biggest brands in the gambling industry. The company have been offering their services around the world to their ever-increasing player database since 1988.

The bookmaker is very Irish, in fact, their offices are still in Dublin, Ireland, which is commendable with so many other companies upping sticks and moving to pastures with slightly more relaxed tax laws.

Paddy Power are regulated by the Isle of Man Gambling Commission which over see’s that the company adhere to the strict regulations put in place to ensure player safety.

Whilst sports betting is Paddy Power’s bread and butter, they also offer casino, poker and bingo alternatives, of which we will discuss throughout this article.

Sports Betting at Paddy Power

The bookmaker side of Paddy Power is their most important asset and is where the majority of their player database is built. They have been leading the line as one of the biggest bookmakers in the world for a number of years now and this has allowed them to offer a staggeringly excellent sportsbook as a result.

It’s worth noting that the bookmaker can also be accessed on mobile devices simply by downloading the app to your smartphone device. Alternatively, if you simply visit the bookmaker in your smartphones browser you will be redirected to where you need to be to view the mobile friendly bookmaker. In fact, we like the app so much that we find it’s easier to use than their desktop site!

Odds and Markets

The overall pricing structure on Paddy Power is excellent, but then you wouldn’t expect anything less from one of the biggest bookmakers in the world. The ease in which you can compare prices with so many bookmakers in just a few seconds means that punters have the edge in finding the best prices they can. But, when you register with a bookmaker like Paddy Power you’re going to be able to wager on pretty much any sport or market and know that the price you are getting is going to be at the very worst, competitive.

The excellent pricing structure that you’re going to get across the board with Paddy Power makes them one of those bookmakers perfect for somebody who either doesn’t have the time to find out alternative prices or people who aren’t all that fussed with jumping from bookmaker to bookmaker in the search for a few extra percent from your bets.

Again, market coverage on site is great, especially if you are looking to bet on either football or horse racing. In fact, their horse racing section might well be the best in the business and they cover as many races as any of their competitors. We were also pleased to see that Paddy Power invested a huge amount of resources to bring you Irish sports such as GAA, which is nice homage to their Irish roots.

Live Betting and Streaming

The live streaming section on site is a fairly new addition and with it you’re going to get access to some top quality sporting events. What we will say is that when you compare it the streaming service on the likes of Betfair, they are lacking somewhat in terms of the sports that they offer, but Paddy Power’s service is completely free to use with just a logged account needed. Whilst the other two are also free, you either need to have a funded account or to have placed a bet on that event before viewing.

What’s great about the live streaming service is that it links in nicely with the live betting section. This means that whilst watching a stream for a match, you can keep it alongside the live betting market for that match and place your bets accordingly. Again, not a new feature for companies that already offer live streaming, but as there are still so few bookmakers that do, it’s massive tick for Paddy Power.

Other Features

One of the best reasons to use Paddy Power as your home of betting is the fact that they offer up the Paddy Power Cash Card. This cash card is essentially a MasterCard that will allow you to get instant access to any money in your Paddy Power account. You can use it just as you would a normal debit card and at any pay point or cash machine that accepts MasterCard. There are a few limitations with the card in that you cant withdraw more than £400 from an ATM in any given day and the maximum use per sale is just £500, but it’s the fastest way that you can get hold of your betting cash without waiting several days for a withdrawal process.

We mentioned earlier that Paddy Power were one of the best for horse racing punters and one of the main reasons to this is the inclusion of the ‘Paddy Power inFormer’. The inFormer is a section on site where you can get bucket loads of information on each race, to make a more calculated decision as to which horse you’re planning to back. It’s linked into the Racing Post for analysis of which horses to look out for and even has a virtual reality predictor, which is essentially an algorithm that takes in to account dozens of different factors for each race.

Casino Games at Paddy Power

There is little doubt that the casino lives in the shadow of the sportsbook at Paddy Power. But, the casino is as good an online casino as you are going to find and you will be hard pushed to find a one with a more generous welcome offer, as you will see below.

It’s an obvious progression for a company such as Paddy Power to move their attention to online casino, given the success the sportsbook has had. Whilst their have been a few trials and tribulations along the way, they have managed to work their way near the top and have won several industry awards for their efforts over the last couple of years, underlining how far they have come.

Software and Games

Like so many online casinos these days, Paddy Power use a multitude of software provider to offer the best range of games they can, these include Amaya, Barcrest, Blueprint Gaming, CryptoLogic, Electrade, Evolution Gaming, GamesOS, IGT / Wagerworks, OpenBet and Playtech.

The range of games on offer is of a decent amount without ever really troubling some of the bigger online casinos. To give you an idea, they have got around 180 slots to choose from, whereas some of their competitors will have in excess of 500. But, the slots that are available are really high quality and we know that they have made a deliberate choice to not include all possible slots to their portfolio from the named software providers as their portfolios provide so many more than Paddy Power have posted up. This, however, is not a bad thing, especially when they have plenty of branded titles such as Iron Man, Daredevil, Blade and Rocky, to name but a few.

The casino can be accessed straight from your desktop on either Mac or Windows devices. The casino can also be downloaded to your desktop, but this is only available for Windows.

Mobile Casino Games

There is no dedicated download for the mobile casino app, and all you need to do access it is simply head on over the Paddy Power casino in your browser and you will be directed to the mobile version of the site. Now, not all the games can be accessed from the app, but you still get quite a few to keep you going. The only noticeable lack of games comes from the slots section, but we would guess that there are still around 70% or so of the desktop games on the app, with all the branded titles included.
