Coral have firmly established them as one of the biggest gambling portals in the online gaming industry. Their history, like many, started on the high street and has now blossomed into an online powerhouse. Unlike many however, they still operate a large number of betting shops throughout the UK and Ireland, although for this review we will be looking at how they perform solely online.
The company are based out of Ireland, but they perform admirably across the UK and Europe these days. They are licensed by the Gibraltar Gambling Commission but their headquarters are based in Nottingham, England.
The company boast a healthy sportsbook, casino, bingo and poker section, along with integrated LottoBet, Virtuals and Live casino. Throughout the review we will be looking at how each section of the company performs.
Sports Betting At Coral
The sports betting section of the Coral bookmaker is what the company are most well known for. They include dozens of sports and hundreds of markets mixing in everything from football to fencing.
More recently, they have undergone huge changes to their mobile betting app, which now allows you to access every sport and betting market that was originally on offer from their sportsbook. The app is available on both iOS and Android devices with each having custom layouts and designed to fit perfectly with each interface.
Odds and Markets
Coral have managed to implement a more than fair pricing structure for their odds. You’re always going to get competitive pricing for more or less all sports and markets, but it’s highly unlikely that Coral will be the best priced for all bets.
That being said, very few bookmakers can every really claim they are best priced for all markets, but with Coral you can be sure that you wont be hard done by too much with the odds on offer.
Their market coverage is overall pretty good. They massively push both football and horse racing to their punters and it’s here where you will find the majority of markets to bet on. Again, this isn’t uncommon for UK based bookmakers as these are the sports that most punters are looking to bet on.
Aside from the big two, Coral provide betting markets on over 20 other sports from around the world. Sports such as cricket, rugby, golf, cricket, darts, snooker and tennis are your more obvious ones and are all apparent. A few more niche sports will include hurling, baseball, basketball, Aussie Rules, UFC and MMA, to name but a few.
Live Betting and Streaming
The live betting section within Coral is one that has improved greatly over the last couple of years. An area where they will likely admit themselves that lacked a little, it’s now up there with the best in terms of coverage.
Again, your main sport for the live betting is going to be that of football, but just a quick glance shows games from tennis, basketball, snooker, greyhound racing and ice hockey, which shows that they do open these types of bets.
A nice addition to the live betting section is the inclusion a mini style match centre. This means you can see the real time score, along with information such as dangerous attacks, shots on target, shots off target, yellow/red cards and number of corners.
Live streaming is another aspect of the site that Coral have worked hard to improve. They claim that you can now watch over 2,00 live matches every week, and the best thing is that they are all free! Well, kind of, you need to have a funded betting account to do so, but this can be as little as £1 and you are good to go.
Coverage includes football, snooker, rugby, darts, basketball, badminton, handball, ice hockey and volleyball. The games vary, but for football they do have coverage of La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 and Eredivise, which are all strong leagues across Europe.
Other Features: Cash Out
Coral do now run a solid cash out system, which allows you to cash bets out for a guaranteed return prior to the game actually ending. Not all games can be cashed out though and this includes some markets as well. We’d say that whilst it’s a good feature to have, it does rally need to extend to all types of bets for it to be classed a triumph.
Casino Games At Coral
It’s safe to say that the casino section at Coral isn’t as strong as their sportsbook section. But, that doesn’t mean that it’s more than handy for the casual casino player. The casino runs Playtech software and offers around 200 games which can be played instantly on both computers and mobile devices.
Software and Games
Coral have teamed up with software provider Playtech for their casino games, and these guys are one of the best in the business. The affiliation means that Coral host a plethora of casino games ranging from slots, roulette variants, table games such as blackjack and craps, along with live casino games and video poker.
The casino can be accessed by both a browser and a download version for desktops, along with a dedicated mobile app. The strength of the casino, like most of this nature, lies in it’s slots catalogue of which you can access hundreds of titles including Deal or No Deal, Kong, Marvel, Rocky, X-Men and many more.
Mobile Casino Games
As mentioned, the casino can be accessed direct from your smartphone and will have dedicated downloads for both iPhone and Android devices. What you get from the app is the full catalogue of games to choose from that you would on desktop, which is a great addition and not something that all casinos offer.
The bingo room has been an area that’s seen a rather large transformation over the last couple of years. The upturn in the popularity of bingo games has forced their hand somewhat, but nonetheless, you are still getting a really good quality bingo section with games running around the clock. The integration with casino games was a nice touch in our eyes.
It runs on Virtue Fusion software (operated by Playtech, the same company as the casino) and offers a £25 bonus when you deposit £5.
The ability to either download the poker to your desktop or simply play via your browser adds additional layers of depth to a quality outlet for the Coral group.
As you’d expect from such a high-end gambling portal, Coral have a good range of payment options to choose from. These include debit card, Visa, MasterCard, PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, ECOPayz, Paysafecard and Pre Paid cards.
Who Are CI Ltd? Debit transactions usually appear as CI Ltd on your statement. So if you’re checking your statement wondering who that was, now you know!
On top of this you can also register a Coral Connect card, which means that you can use the balance of your online account in their high street bookmakers or vice-versa. You can even deposit or withdraw through the card at any of Coral’s many many high street bookies.
Again, as a higher end product, you’re going to get plenty of opportunities to get in touch with Coral, should you ever need too. The live chat feature has to be the quickest and easiest way for most people, but on top of that you can phone, email or simply pop into your local Coral shop.
