Champions League Final

After another exhilarating Champions League campaign, we are now down to the last two. Real Madrid and Liverpool meet in the Ukrainian capital in the final on Saturday evening. Real are looking for their third successive Champions League success, while Liverpool will be hoping to win the trophy for the first time since that memorable night in Istanbul back in 2005. Which way will this mouth-watering final go?

Real Madrid v Liverpool – 26th May

Zinedine Zidane’s Real have been unstoppable in the Champions League in recent years, with this being their fourth final in five seasons. However, Jurgen Klopp certainly has the players at his disposal to cause the 12-time European Cup winners problems in the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev.

On their way to the last two, Madrid have seen off several big-hitters in the knockout rounds, beating Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Bayern Munich to reach their third consecutive final. As for Liverpool, after finishing top of Group E, the Reds got past Porto, Manchester City and Roma.

Both sides have world-class attacks, which should make for an open and entertaining matchup on Saturday. However, Zidane’s troops have all the experience in the world when it comes to Champions League finals, so our money is on the Madrid win at 6/5 with Coral.

Championship Play-off Final

It’s been another entertaining, gruelling and memorable season in the Championship, with just one game left to decide the final place in next season’s Premier League. Aston Villa and Fulham meet at Wembley Stadium in the Championship play-off final on Saturday. On paper, these two sides are very well matched, and this showpiece final could go either way in the national stadium on Saturday.

Aston Villa v Fulham – 26th May

Steve Bruce’s Aston Villa and Slavisa Jokanovic’s Fulham go head-to-head in the Championship play-off final at Wembley on Saturday. Despite losing two of their last three, the Cottagers are the favourites in this one.

Villa finished the regular season in fourth having taken 83 points from 46 games. The Villans then edged past Middlesbrough in the semi-finals. Fulham, who were battling with Cardiff City for second spot for the last few weeks of the season, ended third on 88 points. After a 1-0 defeat at Derby County in the first leg of their semi, goals from Ryan Sessegnon and Denis Odoi put the Whites through with a 2-0 win.

Before losing at Birmingham City on the final day of the season, Fulham had been on a remarkable 23-game unbeaten run in the Championship. Having got back to winning ways last time out, we fancy Jokanovic’s side to prevail on Saturday. Fulham to win 2-1 is nicely priced at 17/2 with Bet365.

League One Play-off Final

Rotherham United and Shrewsbury Town contest the League One play-off final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon. Rotherham, who were relegated from the Championship last season, will be looking for an instant return to the second tier. Shrewsbury, meanwhile, have defied the odds all season, but can they go one step further this weekend?

Rotherham United v Shrewsbury Town – 27th May

Even though Rotherham finished eight points behind Shrewsbury in League One this term, the Millers are the bookies’ favourites to reach the Championship this Sunday. However, Paul Hurst and his Shrews will have other ideas.

Paul Warne’s men have been in decent shape of late, winning five of their last eight. After a 2-2 draw at Glanford Park in the first leg of their semi-final, Rotherham beat Scunthorpe United 2-0 at home to reach Wembley. Shrewsbury had an excellent season under Hurst, going on to finish third on 87 points. The Blues beat Charlton Athletic 1-0 both home and away in their play-off semi-final.

Shrewsbury may be the underdogs, but we can see Hurst guiding the club to the second tier this Sunday. For the Shrews to win in the 90 minutes, check out Betfair’s top odds of 11/5.

League Two Play-off Final

After years of hurt and suffering, Coventry City could be on the up again. Standing in their way in the League Two play-off final are an Exeter City side who are a more than capable outfit under Paul Tisdale, who could be taking charge of his final game as Grecians boss. Like the other two play-off finals, this one promises to be a tense and thrilling affair at Wembley.

Coventry City v Exeter City – 28th May

Mark Robins’ Coventry and Tisdale’s Exeter square off in the League Two play-off final on Monday. There’s not a lot to split these two in the betting, with the Sky Blues the slight favourites.

Coventry were superb at Meadow Lane in the semi-final second leg, winning 4-1 to progress with a 5-2 aggerate scoreline over Notts County. Exeter, who finished League Two in fourth, beat Lincoln City 3-1 over both legs.

The Coventry fans have suffered in recent years, but we fancy their club to make an instant return to the third tier. Robins’ side to win with a -1 goal handicap is nicely priced at 4/1 with BetVictor.
