Super Bowl LII Betting Tips & Analysis – 4th February 2018

Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots lock horns in Super Bowl LII in the US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota this Sunday.

This will be the 52nd Big Game as the champions of the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC) go head-to-head in the end-of-season showdown. Thousands will attend, millions will be watching around the world, but who out of the Eagles or Patriots will come out on top in Minneapolis at the weekend?

Who Will Win The Super Bowl?

Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots will be making their third Super Bowl appearance in four seasons, winning Super Bowl XLIX and LI. Last season, the Patriots, who were 21-3 down at the halfway point, secured a stunning comeback win over Atlanta Falcons in the NRG Stadium in Houston. The teams were level on 28 points each after regulation time, with the Patriots scoring six in overtime to win 34-28 in what was one of the most extraordinary Super Bowls to date.

New England have dominated the NFL under Belichick over the last few years, which is why they head into this one as the odds-on favourites to prevail. The Patriots ended their regular season with a 13-3 record, winning their 15th AFC East title in 17 seasons in the process. Along the way, Belichick’s side were beaten just once away from home all season. In the playoffs, New England saw off Tennessee Titans 35-14 in the Divisional match, before beating Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20 in the AFC Championship. The American Football Conference champions will fancy their chances of retaining their crown this weekend.

However, they are coming up against a Philadelphia Eagles team who have come on leaps and bounds this season. The Eagles, coached by Doug Pederson, were no doubt one of the surprise packages in this year’s National Football Championship, winning 13 of their 16 regular season games, levelling their best record in the franchise’s history. Having lost their last appearance in the Super Bowl to the Patriots back in 2004, Philadelphia will be out for revenge in this one.

After an impressive regular season, the Eagles beat last year’s Super Bowl runners-up Atlanta Falcons 15-10 in the Divisional playoffs. They then stormed to a deserved 38-7 NFC Championship win over Minnesota Vikings at the Lincoln Financial Field in Pennsylvania. Pederson’s boys could cause the five-time Super Bowl champions one or two problems in the US Bank Stadium this Sunday.

Although the Eagles head in as second favourites, Betfair’s 2/1 for a Philadelphia win is a fair price. They have looked incredibly strong this season, although this will unquestionably be their toughest test yet. In truth, though, it’s hard to look past New England Patriots, who have all the experience in the world when it comes to Super Bowls. We believe that the Eagles will give the Patriots a good game in Minnesota, but Belichick’s men should have enough in their locker to see the job through. Other Tips and Predictions

During New England Patriots’ superb season, Rob Gronkowski scored eight receiving touchdowns. He also led the charts for receptions and receiving yards. The tight end could be a big player for the Patriots on Sunday, and the New York-born star is available at 7/1 with Coral to score the opening touchdown.

As we mentioned, the Patriots found themselves 21-3 down at the halfway point of Super Bowl LI this time last year. However, we can’t see them making the same mistake again, so check out Bet365’s 11/10 for New England to be winning at half time and full time in Minneapolis.

These sides scored points for fun during the regular season and in the play-offs, and we can see both teams scoring with ease in NFL’s Big Game. With that in mind, Ladbrokes’ 10/11 for over 47.5 points looks too good to turn down.
