Weekend Football Betting Tips – 29th, 30th September & 1st October 2017

We’ve got another action-packed weekend of Premier League football to look forward to, starting with Huddersfield Town’s home game with Tottenham Hotspur at lunchtime on Saturday. Also on Saturday, leaders Manchester City make the trip to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea it what is going to be a massive clash. Meanwhile, Manchester United, who are level on points with City at the top, host bottom club Crystal Palace.

In the Championship, Queens Park Rangers and Fulham go head-to-head in a tasty west London derby on Friday night. Then on Sunday, Sheffield Wednesday host Leeds United in a mouth-watering match Hillsborough. This promises to be a fascinating weekend of domestic football in England and we’re hoping we can make some money betting on it too.

Premier League

Manchester rivals United and City lead the way in the Premier League table having each taken 16 points from a possible 18. After being shocked by Burnley in their opening Premier League match, Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have recovered well and currently sit in third position. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool have taken 11 points from their first six. With all 20 clubs in action before the second international break of the season, we should be in for another thrilling weekend of Premier League football.

Huddersfield Town v Tottenham Hotspur – 30th September

Huddersfield Town welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the John Smith’s Stadium this Saturday afternoon for a Premier League fixture. The Terriers are unbeaten at home in four league and cup matches so far. Can they cause an upset on Saturday?

Tottenham may have struggled at Wembley, but Spurs have a 100% winning record away from home. So far, Mauricio Pochettino’s boys have seen off Newcastle United, Everton and West Ham United. The Lilywhites head to Yorkshire as the strong favourites to prevail.

In truth, Spurs should have no problems in this one. Tottenham have won without conceding twice on the road in the Premier League already, and we’re backing them to win to nil once again on Saturday. Check out BetVictor’s top odds of 13/10.

Chelsea v Manchester City – 30th September

The standout clash in the Premier League this weekend comes from Stamford Bridge in Saturday’s late kick off as Chelsea host Manchester City in a blockbuster fixture. With both teams in good form, this could go either way.

The Blues have hit back well following their shock defeat to Burnley on the opening weekend of the season. Since then, Chelsea have won four and drawn one of their five league encounters. As for Man City, they have won five and drawn one to sit on top of the table ahead of rivals Man United on goal difference.

Matches between these two giants are usually thrilling affairs. However, we can see these two cancelling each other out on Saturday. Have a punt on the draw and both teams to score, which is available at 7/2 with BetVictor.

Arsenal v Brighton & Hove Albion – 1st October

On Sunday, Arsenal welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to the Emirates Stadium looking to keep up their improved run of results. Albion, meanwhile, will be buoyed by last Sunday’s important win over Newcastle United.

After seeing off West Bromwich Albion with a real ease on Monday tonight, the Gunners will be targeting another three points from this one. As expected, Arsene Wenger’s men are the clear favourites with the bookies.

Arsenal are beginning to find their feet in the Premier League, winning two and drawing one since back-to-back league defeats in August. They should win here, with the home team to be winning at half time and full time priced at 4/5 with Ladbrokes.

Arsenal to be Winning at Half Time and Full Time – 4/5 at Ladbrokes

Everton v Burnley – 1st October

Ronald Koeman’s Everton and Sean Dyche’s Burnley meet at Goodison Park this Sunday. After picking up what was only their second league win of the season last weekend, the Toffees will back themselves to add another three points to their total in this one.

The Clarets, however, have a superb record on the road already this term. From three tough away games at Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, Dyche’s boys have accumulated an outstanding five points. Nevertheless, the hosts are the favourites to seal the win on Sunday.

We believe Burnley will give the Toffees a decent game in Merseyside at the weekend. However, the home team should prevail, so take a look at Coral’s very fair price of 4/6 for Everton to win at Goodison.

Everton to Win – 4/6 at Coral

Newcastle United v Liverpool – 1st October

The last Premier League game before the international break takes place at St James’ Park on Sunday afternoon where Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle United host Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.

After winning three in a row, the Magpies fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Brighton last weekend. Meanwhile, the Reds sealed a much-needed 3-2 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. Liverpool sit in fifth place in the table on 11 points, with Newcastle two points behind in 10th.

This could be a tricky fixture for Liverpool, but they have enough quality within their ranks to get the job done in Tyneside. Therefore, we think there’s good value in BetVictor’s 17/2 for the away team to come away with a 2-0 win.

Championship

Before the midweek matches, Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Cardiff City were joint level at the top of the Championship table on 20 points each. On Tuesday night, Cardiff welcome Leeds to the Welsh capital, while Wolves make the trip to Sheffield United. Queens Park Rangers and Fulham meet in a London derby at Loftus Road to get the weekend’s matches up and running on Friday. Meanwhile, Reading host Norwich on Saturday, and Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds square off at Hillsborough on Sunday.

Queens Park Rangers v Fulham – 29th September

On Friday evening, west London rivals Queens Park Rangers and Fulham do battle at Loftus Road in the Championship. There’s no love lost between these two, which should make for a feisty and interesting affair in the capital on Friday.

Last season, the Cottagers took four points off of Rangers in the league on their way to a sixth-place finish in the second tier. This term, however, Ian Holloway’s QPR are unbeaten on their own patch in the Championship, although they have drawn their last two home games.

This could be a close encounter between these two evenly matched teams at Loftus Road. With that said, check out the draw, which you can get at the tempting odds of 13/5 with Betfair.

Reading v Norwich City – 30th September

Jaap Stam’s Reading and Daniel Farke’s Norwich City meet in a Championship fixture on Saturday. Both teams, who were tipped to do well this season, have not made the best of starts. Who can get their season up and running with three points at the Madejski Stadium?

Before Tuesday’s fixture with Millwall, the Royals have tasted just two league victories this season. As for Norwich, they have picked up in recent weeks, winning three and drawing two of their last five in all competitions.

Reading have failed to win any of their last three home games in the Championship, and we think they will struggle against Norwich at the weekend. Take a look at Bet365’s 9/1 for the away team to win 2-1.

Norwich City to Win 2-1 – 9/1 at Bet365

Sheffield Wednesday v Leeds United – 1st October

The standout match in the Championship this weekend is without doubt the Sheffield Wednesday versus Leeds United fixture on Sunday. This is normally a cracking contest between these two Yorkshire rivals, and we’re expecting nothing less at Hillsborough this time around.

Leeds have two very tricky away games in the space of a few days, but they will head to Cardiff and Sheffield full of confidence and belief. As for the Owls, Carlos Carvalhal’s troops travel to Birmingham City on Wednesday.

The Whites beat Sheff Wed’s home and away last season, and the current league leaders will fancy their chances of getting the better of the Sheffield club again in this one. BetVictor’s 8/1 for Thomas Christiansen’s side to win 1-0 has caught our eye.
